Starting at Lancing
Beginning your journey at Lancing is an exciting time, full of new experiences, opportunities, and friendships. This section of the Handbook is designed to guide you through the essential information you and your family need to feel confident and prepared. From what to pack to how to navigate the first few days, you’ll find everything here to help make the transition smooth and enjoyable. The grid opposite is a guideline and full details will be updated as we approach the start of the Academic Year, so please refer back.
Key dates for the first few weeks
A calendar of dates can be found here: Lancing College Calendar. A full programme will be sent out at the start of term, however parents should be alert to a programme which will go into the evening on several occasions (eg barbeques and social events) for all pupils (day and boarding).
Saturday 5 September
Whole-school Chapel service which families are welcome to attend.
In the afternoon, this is followed by a whole-school sponsored walk in aid of the charities we support in Malawi The walk is 12 miles over the South Downs and we welcome families to join us for the walk and refreshments afterwards.
