Staying Overnight
Day pupils may stay overnight at the College, subject to space availability. Those in Boarding Houses will stay in their own House, while those in Head’s House, Sankey’s House, or Saints’ House will be accommodated in a Boarding House, as arranged by their Housemaster/Housemistress.
Parents should request overnight stays with at least 24 hours’ notice, as spaces are limited. No charge applies when a pupil is required to stay due to an official school activity running past 21:00, but prior approval and notice must be given. Please refer to the Fees Information on the website for applicable charges.
Flexi-boarders may stay up to three nights per week at no additional cost. Any extra nights beyond this allowance will follow the same procedures as day pupils and will be subject to availability and charges.
House Nights In
A half-termly House Night In is held, allowing pupils to gather in their Houses for games, competitions, meals, or quizzes – often led by senior pupils. No Evening School (homework) is set on these nights. These evenings are highlighted in the school calendar, and parents of day pupils should arrange to collect their children at 20:30.
Medical Arrangements for Day Pupils
Day pupils (including flexi-boarders) remain registered with their family doctors but will receive treatment at the Health Centre in the event of an accident, emergency, or sudden illness while at school. As a result, their medical records will stay with their family doctor, but it is essential that the school doctor has access to their Medical History Form.
Parents must complete and submit the Medical History Form to the Admissions Office before the pupil starts at Lancing. This information is crucial for ensuring the child’s safety and wellbeing, and pupils cannot begin school until the form has been received.
If a pupil transitions from day to boarding, they will be registered with the school doctor, and their medical records will be transferred to the Health Centre.
