Valuables and Security
Pupils are regularly reminded not to leave items such as laptops, iPads, or tablets lying around. We also advise that these items be insured against accidental damage or theft. Although theft is rare at Lancing College, items may be misplaced, and screens are particularly vulnerable to damage if dropped or knocked off a desk.
Each pupil has a designated lockable space for storing personal belongings. However, all items should be clearly marked with their name, and valuables can be safely stored with the Housemaster or Housemistress if needed.
Our school insurers offer a cost-effective personal effects insurance scheme for pupils; further details can be found below:

Parents are encouraged to mark valuable items with the child’s name and House where possible. We also advise keeping non-essential items to a minimum, particularly during the first year. For items with identification numbers—such as bicycles, cameras, laptops, or mobile phones—please ensure that these numbers are recorded at home.
